File specifications

To submit your electronic files for printing at Red Sun, first read the File Specifications Guidelines (PDF). This guide provides important information about formats, color usage, fonts and other issues relating to your electronic files. Also included is a guide to creating press-ready PDFs.

 

PDF presets (preferred format)

Red Sun Press provides several presets for graphics applications to help you to more easily prepare your files to our specifications. These include an Adobe PDF preset for use in InDesign, Illustrator and Distiller, and a Quark Output Style preset for making PDFs from Quark Xpress documents. You should download these presets for use on either Mac or PC computers.

 

File submission via FTP

Once your files are prepared to specification, you may upload them to Red Sun’s FTP site via our Web File Manager. If you do not already have a user name and password, please contact a customer service representative in order to have access to the site and to set up your folder.

To upload files via the Web File Manager, click here or go to

The Web File Manager will prompt you to locate and upload your files. Please open your own folder before uploading files into it. You may also use a dedicated FTP transfer program such as Fetch, CuteFTP or other programs to upload your files.

Please contact your customer service rep to let them know your files have been uploaded and to process your order.
